The Harbor Brewfest Sept. 22, 2012 12-5pm
Harrys at Harry's Wine Blog

Renzo has been working hard on the 2nd beer festival that we are sponsoring this summer. Anyone that was aboard The Island Belle a couple of months ago for "The Offshore Pour", Fairfield counties first ever beer festival, will tell you that it was a great time on a perfect day with lots of good food, fun, music and of course beer. Most of the summer is in our rearview mirror and now we get into a different style of beer. Gone are the Summer lagers, and in come the Octoberfest and Pumpkin beers. For the upcoming season Renzo reaches back out to the beer world and has invited lots of..

Connecticut's Tax-Free Week Starts Aug. 19

Connecticut's Tax-Free Week Starts Aug. 19

The tax holiday exempts most clothing and footwear from Connecticut's sales tax, up to $300.

Are we better off with Malloy?

Half baked laws!
He put me and 10,000+ amazon astores out of business.
An astore allows you to place amazon advertisements on your websites, blogs, twitter, etc. When people click on these advertisements you earn between 5% and 7% commissions from the advertisement.  astore details
Yet Bing, Yahoo, Google still profit from commissions in CT.

•Institute the so-called "Amazon law" tax by requiring online retailers whose in-state affiliates sell more than $2,000 worth of goods annually in Connecticut to collect state sales tax and remit it to the Department of Revenue Services.

The result: amazon delivered me the pink slip......

Now he votes for this???

Malloy makes Rolling Stone list of pot reformers

Is this the new business opportunity for the 10,000+ displaced people? Is CA better off?
Will you get this at your local bar, liquor store, coffee shop or drugstore? Look at CA.
Will your neighbor grow it in their backyard?
Will the legal age be 21 like alcohol or 18 like cigarettes?
Should it be legalized, like alcohol and tobacco?

Let your VOTE tell him what you think!

Video from the "Offshore pour" Beer festival

Harry's Wine Blog: Video from the "Offshore pour" Beer festival

About a month ago, June 16th to be exact, Harry's sponsored Fairfield Counties first ever Craft beer festival aboard the Island belle out of Norwalk. For three hours the participants cruised around the Long Island sound on a picture perfect day enjoying great suds from 20 or so different breweries along with great food from Bobby Q's and live music provided by I ANBASSA! It was an incredible success and the rave reviews have been steadily heard in the weeks following.

Harry's own Renzo Kian-Kabota was the festival organizer and host for the day, making sure that all of the details were attended to and that the attendees had a great time.

We finally have a video to share from Bizz-Buzztv and it gives you a good sense of the days events. Follow the link here to see the fun!

"Sunday Sales" is a reality!

"Sunday Sales" is a reality!:
It was just announced that the Governor has officially signed the landmark Bill #5021 in to law. This new law will allow for alcohol sales on Sundays beginning next Sunday May 20, 2012 from 10am-5pm and add a few other provisions to the existing laws. Harry's will put these hours into our regular weekly rotation.

We have heard good points made on both sides of the argument and will continue to keep our eyes, ears, and minds open to new ideas regarding these changes. As a fixture in the industry for more than 70 years, Harry's has seen and many times led the way through all types of changes. As we embark on our new adventure into uncharted waters we invite your feedback and hope that our customers will let us know what their particular needs are moving forward.

Thank you to all of our loyal customers through the years, your patronage has been greatly appreciated and we look forward to the next 70+ years of servicing you and your families.

Cheers!

The Harry's Family
